Current Favourites

Hello guys! Since monthly faves are so hard to keep up with when you're a busybee, I figured I'd just do a current faves. I am currently ill in bed watching Catfish: The TV Show so it's a perfect time to write a post I guess haha! Anyway, lets get on!

Makeup
I am still as obsessed with makeup as ever and there have been a few new things I have tried since my last favourites post.

My current favourite foundation is the Revlon Colour Stay. Not only is this the longest lasting drugstore foundation I have ever tried, but the finish is beautiful. It dries into the most gorgeous almost matte finish. There is still a hint of a sheen which looks natural and dewy but also not shiny and greasy looking. At only a tenner, this is unreal and I'll need to order my second bottle as mine is almost gone!

I am lusting over my Collection Lip Creme Puff in Angel Delight. I was after a brown/nude shade that was easy to wear and after swatching this in the shop I just had to get it. The colour is pigmented although it wears into a lovely soft and comfortable almost lip balm texture. It also lasts ages! At £2.99 it was an absolute bargain and I cannot wait to get the rest of them.

For brows, I have been obsessed with this Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown. When I'm in a rush, it is the easiest product to just brush through my brows and then it's done! It doesn't budge at all and actually takes some effort to remove! The colour is perfect and gives me perfect definition. However when I have more time to do my brows I'll shape them and fill in with powder then use this to set the hairs and it looks so natural. Another bargain at only £5!

 Skin Care

I have only been using two things recently and my skin has never been clearer. To cleanse my skin I've been using the Number 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion. It really gives my skin a good clean and also leaves it feeling so soft! I have sensitive skin and this doesn't aggrivate my skin at all.

My go to moisuriser at the moment is the Kiss Radient Energy Balm. It is so light and has small illuminating particles in it that leaves my skin looking glowing and fresh. Another bargain at only £2 for 50ml!

YouTube

I have 2 current favourite Youtuber channels at the moment! The first one being the lovely Jessica (Dazzledust08). Her makeup skills never fail to amaze me, and right now is the time to subscribe as she has just started her 2015 Halloween series!
Next up is someone who I've known for quite a while as she is from my home town. Frances (Meteosprite) is so creative with her makeup, and there is something so fresh about her, something you've never seen before! Worth checking out for sure.

TV

I'm not a massive TV watcher but since my girlfriend and I have had Sky Multiroom put in, we've been watching it loads. The new series of MTV's Catfish is amazing, and also scary. Really eye opening. Of course the Great British Bake Off has to be mentioned too. Only 17 days 'til the new AHS tho!!!

Hope you enjoyed this guys! What has been your faves recently? :)

Current Faves!

So recently I have been trying out loads of new things and I couldn't wait to shame them with you!

My first favourite this month is Maybelline's Fit Me pressed powder in 120 Classic Ivory. Up until now I have been 100% faithful to Rimmel's Stay Matte, but recently I feel that it is a little too cakey and I wanted to try something different. This powder is super fine and I love it! It mattifies, but also if you lightly dust it over your foundation with a big powder brush it absorbs the oil but also lets a natural sheen come through too. And to top it off - I noticed a day or so after buying it that underneath the product there is a mirror and a powder puff. Perf!

Next up is L'oreal's True Match foundation in N1 Ivory. I'm not even this light naturally, but because it's summer at the moment and I've been fake tanning, I've been using this to mix in with other foundations to get the perfect shade, no matter which colour I am. It says on the bottle that this product is super blend able and I would 100% agree, it blends in easily both on my skin and with other foundations. It also has SPF 17, bonus!

I thought I would try Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer because I've heard that it is exactly the same as Benefit's Porefessional which I am completely in love with! I wouldn't say they are the same, they are completely different textures for starters! But I would say that this product does exactly what it says on the packaging. It makes my pores appear smaller, but it also creates a lovely smooth base for my foundation and concealer. At a fraction of the price of the Porefessional too, this is deffo a hit in my eyes!

If you know me, you'll know that I wear false lashes quite a lot! There's just something about them that almost finishes a makeup look in my opinion. I am a big Eyelure fan and I would normally go for 101, but they didn't have them in stock when I went to pick some up. Instead, I got number 100. They are so fluttery and long which is normally the lashes I would go for! I also love Eyelure glue. Out of all the different brand of lashes I have tried, the glue with these lashes are always the best. So much so, that I actually save them to use on other lashes because I just know it won't be as good as Eyelure's.
Sticking with lashes, I have recently discovered that Essence is now stocked in Wilkinson's (UK). I have heard so much about this brand so I decided to pop out and grab some bits and pieces (brand haul coming soon). I couldn't wait to try the Lashes Go Wild mascara, and I wasn't disappointed! This mascara separates my lashes but also lengthens. There is next to no clumping and the packaging is also fun, I've never had a mascara in a squeezy tube before!
The last makeup item I have on my favourites is Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold. I have been lusting after this for so long but it always seems to be out of stock, so when I saw it in my local Boots I just HAD to get it! I love pink eye shadows and this doesn't budge. It is a gel-creme formula and it can also be used as an eyeshadow base or worn alone which I love for days when I want minimal effort makeup. I have two Colour Tattoos now (the other one being Permanent Taupe) and I can't wait to add more to my collection.
Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion in the gel formula was a favourite skin care product of mine years ago! When I picked up a magazine sometime last month, I noticed that there was a sample of the same product but in the lotion formula free with that issue. I was so happy! I fell instantly back in love with it and as soon as I've used this sample bottle up, I'll be running back out to grab the full size. As I have an oily t-zone and dry cheeks (combination skin) I find this product perfect as it's very light and sinks into my skin beautifully.
My final favourite at the moment is a fragrance. Soap and Glory's Super Tonic fragrance in Orangeasm. This wont be for everyone as it's very strong and only really smells like oranges, but I just love it! It's quite sweet but also smells quite sour if that makes any sense?! It lasts for ages and for only £12 for 100ml I can't really complain. I definitely go for sweet fragrances anyway so this is perfect for me. Love!
Hope you enjoyed this post guys. Speak soon! Beth xx

Collective Haul!

Hello everybody! Over the past month or so I have treated myself to some new make up bits that I thought might be of interest to you. I decided to do a collective haul instead of loads of tiny hauls because I felt like I didn't buy enough things to haul in any one shopping trip haha!

I'll start off with what I am most excited about! After doing a bit of shopping at Meadowhall with my friend, I came across the Urban Decay shop. I must have gone in there at least twice before I caved and decided to buy the original Naked palette. I've been umming and arring for quite some time about whether or not to start my Naked Palette collection because being a student, £37 is quite expensive! Even so, it didn't stop me caving and buying the original, along with a Primer Potion in Sin. I don't regret my purchases, despite the price tag. I have used both of them every day since my purchase around 2 weeks ago! I completely understand the hype. Enjoy some crap photographs of the products and swatches below.

The next item was actually a gift from my Mum from when she went travelling to Germany last month. She is such a babe, and I'm so grateful! It is the famous YSL Touche Eclat. I haven't given this a proper test drive yet, because as it was a gift I don't want to over use it! But from the couple times I have used it, I love it. I find it works best as a highlighting concealer and wouldn't use it for spot and blemish concealing. I really love applying it down the sides of my mouth to make my lips stand out when I'm wearing a bold colour! Sorry about the finger prints on the photo, do you know how hard it is to clean it off cardboard?!

YSL Touche Eclat

I decided to pick up some new lip colours (because I clearly don't have enough..) because summer is on its way and I'm obsessed with brights at the moment! I found this gorgeous coral baby pink colour by Collection called 'Sweet Tart'. I am absolutely loving this at the moment, and it looks gorgeous with bronzed up skin.

Collection Lipstick in Sweet Tart

After seeing the Rita Ora collection advertised for Rimmel I just had to try one of the Colour Rush Balms. I was not disappointed! The formula of these are absolutely gorgeous. They smell like vanilla (like the MAC lipsticks) and have awesome staying power. They leave a glossy finish that doesn't slide off the lips too. I can see myself collecting them all pretty soon!

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Rumour Has It

The next lip colour is the a neutral lipstick from the brand 'Look'. I've never seen the brand before but I saw there was an offer on this brand's makeup in Superdrug and I couldn't resist the cute packaging. The lipstick itself is a little slippy, but I can work with it. Gorgeous neutral!

LOOK lipstick in Shade 6 'Petal Nude'

My final lip colour is this Super Stay 24 Hour Bold Matte lip colour in Prune Plaisir and it is seriously the brightest colour I own! It pretty much has the same formula as any other of Maybelline's Super Stay lip colour line, but this dies matte. I love it! I love the balm that comes with it to stop it looking dry. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this, this summer.

Browsing the MUA stand at Superdrug, I noticed that their powder highlighter was finally back in stock so I snapped it up straight away. I've heard amazing reviews over this product but I haven't properly tested it yet. When swatched it looks amazing though! I also picked up two of MUA's powder blushes. I already own a couple of these blushes and absolutely love them, and at £1 you literally cannot go wrong! I picked up two colours that I own nothing of. A gorgeous bright pink that I think will look nice with a tan, and a neutral pink colour for when I don't want a strong cheek.

Finally, I thought I would try one of Rimmel's mascaras. The always have loads of versions of this mascara and they have been around for ages, but I just haven't tried it before. I love the brush on this! It is curved and has different sized bristles on it. The formula coats each lash and makes them look so long and voluminous. In love!

Hope you enjoyed this guys! What have you been buying recently? :)

Ciao, Beth xxx

October Favourites

I don't think I've ever done a favourites post before, but I've had so many awesome discoveries this month I think that I think it's very necessary!

Makeup

Lipstick

Photo from Makeup Alley

Last week a put up a post about my sisters wedding and how I did the bridesmaid's makeup. I used a lipstick called Asia as I found it to be the most flattering on a diverse range of skin tones. I have used this lipstick so many times since the wedding, I think it just looks really lovely and neutral, it has brilliant lasting power, the formulation is really creamy and lovely on the lips and also the packaging is quite smart too! Big thumbs up from me! You can buy Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia here.

Eye Liner
Photo from Maybelline

Maybelline's Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner has really stood out to me. I've never really been a big fan of eyeliner anyway, but I saw that Maybelline had a 3-for-2 offer on in Boots and I thought I'd pick one of these up to try out. Turns out, I actually love it! It comes with a tiny brush which is so nice to use and allows you to build  up the desired line thickness. The formula itself is super pigmented and creamy with great staying power. I wore it all day whilst out shopping and it didn't smudge or bleed at all. Really impressed! You can buy this product here.

Mascara

This is a rediscovery for me, I remember using it when I was a teenager at school and it was awesome back then! Again, this was on offer so I thought I'd pick it up for old times sake! I love the tiny little brush on it as I sometimes find huge fluffy mascara brushes quite hard and messy to work with, however this one gets right into the corners of my eye and is also perfect for putting on my bottom lashes! I got this in Blackish Brown because all of my other mascaras are black and I thought it would be nice to have a softer colour, although it does look pretty dark to me! You can but this here

Random

Music

I've not really had any new discoveries in terms of music this month, but I have been listening to a lot of RnB and club sort of songs! If this is your thing then I'd recommend having a listen to:
  • Gyptian - Hold Yuh
  • Iggy Azalea - Work
  • Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty
  • Sage the Gemini - Gas Pedal
Food

Tandoori Chicken Salad from Subway! Hands down my favourite food of the month. And low cal too..result!

Hope you enjoyed my October favourites guys :) Link me to yours in the comments and I'll be sure to check them out! Ciao for now. x.x.x

Maybelline Babylips Review

When Maybelline brought out the Baby Lips range, the world of internet beauty blogging went wild! After seeing a review featured on everyone's blog, it seemed I was missing out by not owning one. So, I did what every beauty blogger would do..get my hands on one! I picked up Pink Punch from my local Boots store. After using this lip balm for a fair few weeks,  I have come to the conclusion that yes it's pretty and it smells nice, but I'm not too sure all the reviews are accurate.

I had to reapply the lip balm every hour or so, even though one of the selling points of Baby Lips is the 8 hour hydration. The colour payoff was quite nice as it stains the lips, and also the smell was a nice bonus. But as a hydrating lip balm, I really don't think that it was worth the hype. Maybe it was this particular flavour? Who knows. Can any of you guys recommend me your favourite Baby Lips that actually sticks to it's promise?

Ciao for now! B x.x
