Collective Haul!

Hello everybody! Over the past month or so I have treated myself to some new make up bits that I thought might be of interest to you. I decided to do a collective haul instead of loads of tiny hauls because I felt like I didn't buy enough things to haul in any one shopping trip haha!

I'll start off with what I am most excited about! After doing a bit of shopping at Meadowhall with my friend, I came across the Urban Decay shop. I must have gone in there at least twice before I caved and decided to buy the original Naked palette. I've been umming and arring for quite some time about whether or not to start my Naked Palette collection because being a student, £37 is quite expensive! Even so, it didn't stop me caving and buying the original, along with a Primer Potion in Sin. I don't regret my purchases, despite the price tag. I have used both of them every day since my purchase around 2 weeks ago! I completely understand the hype. Enjoy some crap photographs of the products and swatches below.

The next item was actually a gift from my Mum from when she went travelling to Germany last month. She is such a babe, and I'm so grateful! It is the famous YSL Touche Eclat. I haven't given this a proper test drive yet, because as it was a gift I don't want to over use it! But from the couple times I have used it, I love it. I find it works best as a highlighting concealer and wouldn't use it for spot and blemish concealing. I really love applying it down the sides of my mouth to make my lips stand out when I'm wearing a bold colour! Sorry about the finger prints on the photo, do you know how hard it is to clean it off cardboard?!

YSL Touche Eclat

I decided to pick up some new lip colours (because I clearly don't have enough..) because summer is on its way and I'm obsessed with brights at the moment! I found this gorgeous coral baby pink colour by Collection called 'Sweet Tart'. I am absolutely loving this at the moment, and it looks gorgeous with bronzed up skin.

Collection Lipstick in Sweet Tart

After seeing the Rita Ora collection advertised for Rimmel I just had to try one of the Colour Rush Balms. I was not disappointed! The formula of these are absolutely gorgeous. They smell like vanilla (like the MAC lipsticks) and have awesome staying power. They leave a glossy finish that doesn't slide off the lips too. I can see myself collecting them all pretty soon!

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Rumour Has It

The next lip colour is the a neutral lipstick from the brand 'Look'. I've never seen the brand before but I saw there was an offer on this brand's makeup in Superdrug and I couldn't resist the cute packaging. The lipstick itself is a little slippy, but I can work with it. Gorgeous neutral!

My final lip colour is this Super Stay 24 Hour Bold Matte lip colour in Prune Plaisir and it is seriously the brightest colour I own! It pretty much has the same formula as any other of Maybelline's Super Stay lip colour line, but this dies matte. I love it! I love the balm that comes with it to stop it looking dry. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this, this summer.

Browsing the MUA stand at Superdrug, I noticed that their powder highlighter was finally back in stock so I snapped it up straight away. I've heard amazing reviews over this product but I haven't properly tested it yet. When swatched it looks amazing though! I also picked up two of MUA's powder blushes. I already own a couple of these blushes and absolutely love them, and at £1 you literally cannot go wrong! I picked up two colours that I own nothing of. A gorgeous bright pink that I think will look nice with a tan, and a neutral pink colour for when I don't want a strong cheek.

Finally, I thought I would try one of Rimmel's mascaras. The always have loads of versions of this mascara and they have been around for ages, but I just haven't tried it before. I love the brush on this! It is curved and has different sized bristles on it. The formula coats each lash and makes them look so long and voluminous. In love!

Hope you enjoyed this guys! What have you been buying recently? :)

My Current Favourite Foundation Picks

As I haven't blogged in ages, I thought what better way to catch up then to tell you all my favourite products at the moment?! If you didn't know already, I am very much a drug-store girl. I can spend hours browsing the shelves of Boots and Superdrug, not to mention that it's affordable for a student on a budget!

This post is going to be my top three current foundation picks. They are all widely available in the UK and also very affordable!

Rimmel Match Perfection, Rimmel Wake Me Up, Seventeen Stay Time
(As you can see, they are all well loved!)

Rimmel Match Perfection (010 Light Porcelain)

This is by far my favourite foundation ever. I love absolutely everything about it! It is described as a light perfecting radiance foundation and I'd say it lives up to its name. This foundation makes my skin look simply flawless, and has a slight hint of a dewy effect without being too shiny. It has awesome staying power, meaning I can pop this on in the morning and it will still look fresh by the time I get back in the evening. It is a liquid foundation, but very blend-able! It also smells like cucumber! This retails for £6.99.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (100 Ivory)

I wasn't too keen on this foundation when I first got it, I thought that it made me look greasy and shiny! However I have found this foundation works best when you're having a 'good skin day' and when used lightly. It is described as an anti-fatigued effect & radiant glow foundation, and I certainly agree! This foundation leaves my skin looking beautifully glowy and dewy with only one thin layer. The only problem with this is that the lightest shade I could find is 100 Ivory, and it is a shade too dark for me, so I think I will have to save this for summer! This foundation retails for £8.99.

Seventeen Stay Time 25 Hour Foundation (Porcelain)

This foundation originally stood out to me because of it's claims to stay put for up to 25 hours (although I have never felt the need to wear foundation for that long...) and being a busy uni student this sounded very appealing! This foundation is a favourite mainly because of it's coverage. This bad boy will cover ANYTHING! From redness and blemishes to scarring and dark circles, after one layer they have disappeared. It leaves your skin looking absolute flawless, the perfect canvas to get creative with the rest of your makeup. I know that this brand is supposed to appeal to teenagers, but I kid you not this stuff is gold. This retails for £6.49.

Hope you enjoyed this guys! More posts coming soon! Ciao for now, B x.x.x.x

Sinful Colours Nail Varnishes

Hello everyone, happy Friday! Today whilst browsing Boots, I came across a beautiful stand of nail varnishes called Sinful Colours. What caught my attention about these particular varnishes was the gorgeous array of different colours! From pastels, to chunky glitters and neons. It was simply beautiful! When I noticed that the nail varnishes were only £1.99 each I had to grab a few to try! Here are my thoughts on them.

Left to right
Cinderella, Unicorn, Pinky Glitter, Easy Going

Cinderella

This is a gorgeous sky blue colour with tiny specks of pink and silver shimmer in it. The first coat came out quite streaky and thin so I couldn't really see the blue, but after a second coat is was much more opaque. I am absolutely in love with this colour and I think it is perfect for spring!

Unicorn
Again, this is certainly not a one coat wonder, however the second coat reveals a gorgeous pastel yellow colour. Again, perfect for spring! I think this would look really nice on an accent nail teamed with 'Cinderella'!

Pinky Glitter

This one is probably my favourite out of all four of them. A gorgeous Barbie pink with a mixture of silver, gold and pink glitter in it! Perfect for the typical girly girl. This again needed two coats, but the results are beautiful! None of the glitter clumped together and the pink colour was really opaque. This could also be used as a top coat with a different shade of pink!

Easy Going

I am a big fan of pale nails as it is, so when I saw this colour I had to have it. When I want light nails I normally go for my snowy white colour, but this pale pink is a lovely alternative! This particular colour would work with only one coat, as it is very opaque, but if you really want them to pop I'd probably go for two!

These nail varnishes are currently in offer in Boots for 3 for £4 which is an absolute bargain! Hope you enjoyed this post guys, be sure to comment if you've tried any nail varnishes from this brand before!

Ciao for now!  Bethanieeee .x.

Happy New Year!

It's that time of year again where everything feels fresh and new, resolutions for the year ahead are made and everyone is generally quite happy! I love this time of year (despite knowing that Christmas is a whole year away again, boohoo) and I know pretty much everyone says this, but I really want to make this year count! I've had a very up and down year, my big sister got married, I moved into a gorgeous new house, but I've also lost another friend and some other bad bits too. This year, I've decided to make a list and stick to it, and I think I might just blog every time I complete one! Below is my list of new years resolutions!

  • Be more money savvy
I am a total shopaholic which isn't always ideal when I'm a student on a tight budget. I really want to settle down and instead of splurging, I want to save up for nice things!
  • Diet!!!
If I'm completely honest, all I've done since the beginning of December is binge eat and not watch what I'm eating at all. It has really gotten out of control so I want to go back to being healthy and leading a healthy lifestyle! I feel good about myself when I do so I can't wait to get that feeling back.
  • Be the best person I can be
This means being nicer, being more optimistic and just generally being a better person. I handed in a lost iPhone in a taxi ride this morning, that made me feel pretty damn good so I've already started this one!
These are my main three that I want to fulfill the most! I think these resolutions will make me feel so much better about myself and will generally make me a happier person. I also have a list of smaller resolutions that are not quite as important, but still something I really want to fulfill this year!

  • Blog more
I generally have a busy lifestyle so I don't always have time to blog. However, I think with a bit more time management to my student schedule I will be able to blog at least once a week.
  • Start recording videos
This would be on my main resolution list, apart from the fact that I think I will be absolutely rubbish! I really hate my voice on a recording so god knows how I'll be able to watch back a video of myself without cringing and deleting it. We will see, but it would be nice to have a variation of both blog posts and videos!
  • Grow my hair longer!!
I went through a stage where I was always dying my hair so for about 2 years my hair really didn't grow much at all. I absolutely love having long hair and I love to style it, so as well as growing my hair, I want to get a good set of clip in hair extensions again too.
  • Start a MAC lipstick collection (PROPERLY)
I've had one or two MAC lipsticks before, and I really love them. There are so many colours that I want and I even have a MAC lipstick wishlist, but sometimes I can't bring myself to spend £15 on one lipstick, but since I'm being money savvy now (wink) I recon that this is very doable.

And that's all my resolutions for the year! I really hope you enjoyed this post, and I can't wait to read every body else's new year blog posts too.

I wish you all a happy new year and I hope you all have an amazing year to come!

Ciao for now, B xx
