Current Favourites

Hello guys! Since monthly faves are so hard to keep up with when you're a busybee, I figured I'd just do a current faves. I am currently ill in bed watching Catfish: The TV Show so it's a perfect time to write a post I guess haha! Anyway, lets get on!

Makeup
I am still as obsessed with makeup as ever and there have been a few new things I have tried since my last favourites post.

My current favourite foundation is the Revlon Colour Stay. Not only is this the longest lasting drugstore foundation I have ever tried, but the finish is beautiful. It dries into the most gorgeous almost matte finish. There is still a hint of a sheen which looks natural and dewy but also not shiny and greasy looking. At only a tenner, this is unreal and I'll need to order my second bottle as mine is almost gone!

I am lusting over my Collection Lip Creme Puff in Angel Delight. I was after a brown/nude shade that was easy to wear and after swatching this in the shop I just had to get it. The colour is pigmented although it wears into a lovely soft and comfortable almost lip balm texture. It also lasts ages! At £2.99 it was an absolute bargain and I cannot wait to get the rest of them.

For brows, I have been obsessed with this Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown. When I'm in a rush, it is the easiest product to just brush through my brows and then it's done! It doesn't budge at all and actually takes some effort to remove! The colour is perfect and gives me perfect definition. However when I have more time to do my brows I'll shape them and fill in with powder then use this to set the hairs and it looks so natural. Another bargain at only £5!

 Skin Care

I have only been using two things recently and my skin has never been clearer. To cleanse my skin I've been using the Number 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion. It really gives my skin a good clean and also leaves it feeling so soft! I have sensitive skin and this doesn't aggrivate my skin at all.

My go to moisuriser at the moment is the Kiss Radient Energy Balm. It is so light and has small illuminating particles in it that leaves my skin looking glowing and fresh. Another bargain at only £2 for 50ml!

YouTube

I have 2 current favourite Youtuber channels at the moment! The first one being the lovely Jessica (Dazzledust08). Her makeup skills never fail to amaze me, and right now is the time to subscribe as she has just started her 2015 Halloween series!
Next up is someone who I've known for quite a while as she is from my home town. Frances (Meteosprite) is so creative with her makeup, and there is something so fresh about her, something you've never seen before! Worth checking out for sure.

TV

I'm not a massive TV watcher but since my girlfriend and I have had Sky Multiroom put in, we've been watching it loads. The new series of MTV's Catfish is amazing, and also scary. Really eye opening. Of course the Great British Bake Off has to be mentioned too. Only 17 days 'til the new AHS tho!!!

Hope you enjoyed this guys! What has been your faves recently? :)

My new favourite dark lipstick...for £1?!

So last week I popped into my local Poundland to pick up some bits and pieces, and I noticed that they had a new makeup stand by the brand Makeup Gallery. I have never heard about this brand before, and let's face it, how good can a £1 lipstick really be right? But boy was I impressed! I picked up the All About the Pout Colour Moisture lipstick in 18 black cherry and I am totally in love.

This is the most gorgeous deep red ever! Although it is slightly on the berry side, it's still a definite red, well to me anyways!

I'm so excited by this find that I feel like going back and buying every single colour and maybe even some other bits and pieces from the brand too. I mean £1?! Seriously?! It's gorgeous! So moisturising on the lips and gorgeous colour payoff. I am seriously impressed.

Pics below! Hope you enjoyed reading, ciao for now xx

9 Reasons Why I Wear Makeup

I know it's not compulsary to wear makeup, and I certainly know that it is for fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously. However, recently I seem to have been recieving some critisism for wearing make up on my own face. So, as a reminder/rant/lolz, here is a post so that people can understand my point of view on wearing makeup.Enjoy! B.x

1) Makeup makes me feel better about my appearance
I don't have too much of a problem going out in public without make up, infact I think its good to go a few days without it sometimes to let your skin breath! However if I know I'm going somewhere of some importance, I like to feel good about myself. I like to conceal my blemishes and hide all evidence of a hangover. Is that okay!?

2) I like to watch myself go from a 3/10 at to a solid 8
No, I'm joking. I'm not seriously rating myself there but it is magical to see what a transformation a bit of slap can make.

3) I collect makeup.
As a collector of makeup, it would seem abit silly if I didn't actually wear it, right? It would be like buying a Subway and just looking at it. All types of wrong.

4) It's fun!
I never knew I had a creative streak until I started playing around with makeup. Upon this discovery, I take great pride in my creations and have such a fun time too. Do. Not. Take. This. Away. From. Me!!

5) Enhance my favourite feature
If I had to choose, I'd probably say my eyes are alright. Infact, I quite like them. I like to wear warm browns on my eyes as thats the opposite colour to my baby blues on the colour wheel. It makes them stand out more. Clever huh?

6) Skin Care
Beleive it or not, a lot of my base makeup contains ingredients that are good for my skin. For example, a lot of my foundations contain SPF. Sun protection and a flawless base! Sooo clever.

7) Contouring though
Contouring is my absolute favourite part of doing my makeup. I look a strong cheek bone, along with bronzed skin and a beautiful highlight. Contouring slims my heart shape face, I can't see a negative about this at all!

8) Eyebrows though
I am one of those unfortunate people who wasn't blessed with lucious thick brows. Infact, I don't even think I have any hair on my eyebrows! Thanks to makeup, I can look like I am one of those lucky few. But I'm not. Waah.

9) Because I want to!
Makeup to me is a feel good factor and I love applying it, wearing it and then even taking it off. It's a hobby, I like it. Get over it.

Over and out :)

The Autumn Tag

Helloo! I saw this tag on Emmi's blog Emmi Hearts and I really loved reading it! It's September now (gone fast right?!) so the Autumn months are now upon us and I can't be more excited! This time of year is my idea of perfection. Cosy nights, hot drinks and dark lipstick! Hope you enjoy this tag guys, feel free to do it and let me know your links if you do! xx
Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
This is really easy for me! Costa's gingerbread latte with an extra shot of espresso. Always!
Accessories - What do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I don't really wear scarfs as I don't like feeling suffocated! Is that weird?! The same with gloves, they're just annoying as I'm always on my phone. However I love cute little ankle boots or Chelsea boots with thick tights and dresses!

Music - what's your favourite music to listen to in autumn?
I don't change my music taste based on the season believe it or not haha! However when it comes to winter, the Christmas classics are of course a favourite.

Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
Again, I don't really change my perfume based on the season, I just like to wear what I think smells good! My favourites at the moment are Intimately Beckham, Soap and Glory Orangeasm & Marc Jacobs Daisy.

Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
Probably vanilla, I always go for this scent no matter what anyway! My absolute all time favourite candle scent is Yankee's Vanilla Frosting. It's sooo delicious!

What do you love most about autumn?
If I'm honest, it's Hull Fair! Since coming to uni (I'm about to go into my third year) my friends and I have gone to Hull Fair every year. It's basically just this massive fair and everything is over priced and expensive but it is always the best time. I can't wait!! Apart from that, gingerbread lattes ;)

Favourite makeup look?
I love wearing darker lip colours in the Autumn and winter. I feel like you can't get away with it as much during Spring or Summer, and I love purples and reds. I also think brown smokey eyes and earthy colours look great in the Autumn!

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
The count down til Christmas!!

Coloured Contact Lenses! (MyCosmeticLenses)

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting much recently - moving house is so stressful! I do have a list of things I'd like to share with you and they will be coming soon, lots of new things to talk about! Anyway, I have been looking at getting some coloured contact lenses recently, and after a bit of research I think this brand sounds pretty damn amazing! I'm a massive Geordie Shore fan so the fact that Marnie Simpson wears this brand of contact lenses particularly excited me! Below is some information on the brand MyCosmenticLenses in case you were interested. Have any of you guys heard of this brand before? Or have you ever tried wearing coloured contact lenses before? Let me know!

Ciao for now! B xx

MyCosmeticLenses is a company which sells non-prescription “plano” fashion coloured contact lenses. The lenses do not alter your sight at all.

The lenses are of the highest quality and EC certified.

The company was founded to fill a gap in the market for lenses which both look natural and are comfortable to wear, and unlike other cosmetic lenses on the market, they’re extremely comfortable due to their high water content of 42%. They’re also extremely easy to insert.

Lenses have a 1 year life from when first removed from their packaging, based on wearing them for 8 hours per day and following proper care instructions.

We stock and supply over 30 colours and they’re all designed to look totally natural, so that meeting someone for the first time, they’d think that was your natural eye colour.

Absolutely all items come with free postage, and lenses stock from £12.99.

Your can choose your colour to either slightly alter your eye colour, or go for a big dramatic change. They’re especially popular amongst people with dark brown eyes who want to experience having bright blue eyes or piercing green eyes for the first time ever, it really does change a persons whole look.

We also have a special 1 tone range with Geordie Shore Marnie Simpson, who has been wearing coloured contact lenses for many years. She loves our lenses due to their comfort with Pure Blue being (which she’s wearing in all images ) being her favourite colour which she is often seen wearing on the show. Marnie has naturally dark brown eyes

Collective Haul!

Hello everybody! Over the past month or so I have treated myself to some new make up bits that I thought might be of interest to you. I decided to do a collective haul instead of loads of tiny hauls because I felt like I didn't buy enough things to haul in any one shopping trip haha!

I'll start off with what I am most excited about! After doing a bit of shopping at Meadowhall with my friend, I came across the Urban Decay shop. I must have gone in there at least twice before I caved and decided to buy the original Naked palette. I've been umming and arring for quite some time about whether or not to start my Naked Palette collection because being a student, £37 is quite expensive! Even so, it didn't stop me caving and buying the original, along with a Primer Potion in Sin. I don't regret my purchases, despite the price tag. I have used both of them every day since my purchase around 2 weeks ago! I completely understand the hype. Enjoy some crap photographs of the products and swatches below.

Original Naked Palette swatches

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin

The next item was actually a gift from my Mum from when she went travelling to Germany last month. She is such a babe, and I'm so grateful! It is the famous YSL Touche Eclat. I haven't given this a proper test drive yet, because as it was a gift I don't want to over use it! But from the couple times I have used it, I love it. I find it works best as a highlighting concealer and wouldn't use it for spot and blemish concealing. I really love applying it down the sides of my mouth to make my lips stand out when I'm wearing a bold colour! Sorry about the finger prints on the photo, do you know how hard it is to clean it off cardboard?!

YSL Touche Eclat

I decided to pick up some new lip colours (because I clearly don't have enough..) because summer is on its way and I'm obsessed with brights at the moment! I found this gorgeous coral baby pink colour by Collection called 'Sweet Tart'. I am absolutely loving this at the moment, and it looks gorgeous with bronzed up skin.

Collection Lipstick in Sweet Tart

After seeing the Rita Ora collection advertised for Rimmel I just had to try one of the Colour Rush Balms. I was not disappointed! The formula of these are absolutely gorgeous. They smell like vanilla (like the MAC lipsticks) and have awesome staying power. They leave a glossy finish that doesn't slide off the lips too. I can see myself collecting them all pretty soon!

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Rumour Has It

The next lip colour is the a neutral lipstick from the brand 'Look'. I've never seen the brand before but I saw there was an offer on this brand's makeup in Superdrug and I couldn't resist the cute packaging. The lipstick itself is a little slippy, but I can work with it. Gorgeous neutral!

LOOK lipstick in Shade 6 'Petal Nude'

My final lip colour is this Super Stay 24 Hour Bold Matte lip colour in Prune Plaisir and it is seriously the brightest colour I own! It pretty much has the same formula as any other of Maybelline's Super Stay lip colour line, but this dies matte. I love it! I love the balm that comes with it to stop it looking dry. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this, this summer.

24 hour Bold Matte Lip Colour in Prune Plaisir

Browsing the MUA stand at Superdrug, I noticed that their powder highlighter was finally back in stock so I snapped it up straight away. I've heard amazing reviews over this product but I haven't properly tested it yet. When swatched it looks amazing though! I also picked up two of MUA's powder blushes. I already own a couple of these blushes and absolutely love them, and at £1 you literally cannot go wrong! I picked up two colours that I own nothing of. A gorgeous bright pink that I think will look nice with a tan, and a neutral pink colour for when I don't want a strong cheek.

MUA Undress Your Skin Powder Highlighter MUA Powder Blush in Bubble Gum (bottom left) MUA Powder Blush in Cupcake (bottom right)

Finally, I thought I would try one of Rimmel's mascaras. The always have loads of versions of this mascara and they have been around for ages, but I just haven't tried it before. I love the brush on this! It is curved and has different sized bristles on it. The formula coats each lash and makes them look so long and voluminous. In love!

Hope you enjoyed this guys! What have you been buying recently? :)

Ciao, Beth xxx

My Favourite Soap and Glory Products!

Soap and Glory is a very popular brand, almost everyone has heard of or have tried their products. I only jumped on the Soap and Glory bandwagon around Christmas time, and since then I have been hooked! Today is a post on my favourite products by Soap and Glory, including both make up and body products.

Bath and Body

The Righteous Butter

I am absolutely obsessed with this body butter! I love the scent, I love the texture and I love the way my skin feels after using this even only the once. It smells like Soap and Glory's famous Original Pink fragrance (look at picture below) which is absolutely gorgeous. The smell lasts on my skin for absolutely ages and makes my skin super soft almost instantly! I don't think I can find a better body butter.

Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel

After receiving this and several other mini bottles at Christmas time, I wasn't too excited to try it out. Let's be honest, there is only so much a shower gel can really do isn't there? Wrong! After using this shower gel a couple of times, I noticed that my skin was getting very soft after every use. At closer inspection of the bottle, Soap and Glory claims that this product has a built in body lotion. I have never used a product like that before and I was very pleasantly surprised by this! Clean On Me smells exactly the same as The Righteous Butter, so together they make a perfect team for super soft and gorgeous smelling skin in no time.

Girligo Body Moisturising Mist

Let's be honest, not everyone has time (or quite frankly can be bothered to) moisturise their whole body after a bath or shower. Sometimes you just want to climb into bed or you need to rush out of the door. When looking at the Soap and Glory section in Boots I came across this product and I was instantly intrigued. A moisturiser in the form of a mist sounds pretty amazing, imagine just being able to spritz it all over and just get dressed immediately after?! This product is pretty brilliant for lazy days. This also smells like Soap and Glory's Original Pink fragrance, so it is perfect if I want that smell to last all day and have previously used Clean On Me! Big thumbs up!

Mist You Madly Flirty Floral Body Fragrance

This smells absolutely incredible! It is described on the Soap and Glory website as 'notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk.' which is absolutely gorgeous. I find that after spritzing this on in the morning before I head out, the scent is still going strong around lunch time. I absolutely LOVE this product and will continue to repurchase over and over again. This also comes in a travel size bottle (100ml) which is perfect for carrying around in your handbag, although it is pretty unlikely that you'll need to respray much!

Make up

Solar Powder

I have recently purchased the Girl-o-Whirl which has a range of different best selling make up products from Soap and Glory. One of the main products that stood out to me in this set was the Solar Powder. It is described as 'Brilliant, brush-on, multi-shade shimmering bronzer & highlighting brick for beautifully luminous skin. The greatest glow on earth!'. I wear bronzer on an everyday basis and religiously wear my Hoola bronzer from Benefit, however after trying this I may have to reconsider my holy grail bronzer! Solar Powder is matte, and is such a gorgeous colour. It doesn't look orange at all and it is very easy to blend. Pure love for this!!

Thick & Fast Mascara

I am a mascara hoarder, I love trying new formulas and different wands! After hearing many good reviews on this particular mascara, I was excited to find it in my Girl-o-whirl set. When I first went to give this a go, I wasn't particularly blown away by the wand. It just looked to me like your bog standard want. After a few tries, I have learned that this product is all about the formula! Soap and Glory say that 'This super volume mascara creates amazingly, longer, fuller, fabulous lashes. Featuring SUPERFILL™ False Lash Fillers, SHINE AMPLIFIERS, NOFLAKE24 technology and super-fine no-clumps natural wax film formers'. I have never used a mascara (as far as i'm aware) that use false lash fillers so this was very interesting to me! This made me lashes look so long and thick, it is safe to say that it climbed my mascara favourites ladder very quickly.

Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks (Nudist)

Last but by no means least, we have the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss sticks. I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss (I hate getting my hair stuck in it and having to reapply all the time!) but when I also found this in my Girl-o-Whirl I had to give it a go! This smells absolutely incredible. It smells like vanilla and reminds me a lot of the MAC lipsticks. The formula is very smooth and buttery and feels so lovely on the lips. It isn't thick at all and also has a great colour pay off that actually shows on the lips too. My only fault with this is that it's really hard to layer on top of a different product. I wanted nude glossy lips but it just didn't seem to settle well on top of a lipstick. However, this still looks gorgeous on it's own so no biggy!

Hope you enjoyed this post guys! What are your fave Soap and Glory products? :)

Ciao for now! B x.x.x.x

What I got for Christmas 2013!

Hello everyone, I absolutely love reading these sort of blog posts so I thought I'd to my own! This Christmas has been the absolute best and I have been lucky enough to receive some gorgeous gifts from my family and friends. Just a little disclaimer..I'm not showing off! Just sharing what wonderful gifts I have received this year.

Firstly, from my big sister and her lovely wife I got some amazing gifts! I received some Beats by Dr Dre in bright PINK! They are such good quality headphones and I know I'm going to get plenty of use out of them. I also got an amazing shower radio in the shape of a tap! I absolutely love listening to music in the bath and shower but no matter how loud I put my music on in my bedroom, I just can't hear it in the bathroom so this is perfect for me. I also love novelty bits like this, it'll brighten up my bathroom! I also received a lovely Along Came Betty Shower Treats set. It has some bath crystals, a body scrub, a head band, a bath soak and a body lotion in it. I absolutely love this brand so no doubt I'll get plenty of use out of this!

From my twin sister, Hannah, I received these lovely goodies hidden inside a stack of cosmetic bags! There is a gorgeous little hand crafted mirror which is always useful for touch ups on the go, a mud facial mask (she knows I love a good mud mask, really calms down my redness!), and there was also some chocolate coins and some Haribo in there but I shared them with my family on Christmas day.

My Mum and her partner got me some lovely Soap and Glory sets. I am absolutely obsessed with Soap and Glory recently so this was perfect for me! They also got me an electric toothbrush, which may sound like a strange Christmas present but I am a grown up now haha! It's a brand new one from Oral B (Don't even ask me to remember the name of it!) And so far it works a treat! They also got me some pajamas and slippers, because it wouldn't be Christmas without them.

My Aunty Jane got me a lovely makeup bag with some makeup remover wipes inside, some alcohol (which was consumed on Christmas evening) and also a selection box (which was also consumed on Christmas evening!). I absolutely love the makeup bag because it reminds me of my big sister's hen party that we went on earlier on in the year together. We went to It's a Knockout based in Nottingham and we all dressed in an army theme! My little sister got me a huge box of Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers which I absolutely love with a cup of tea, bless her!

Last but definitely not least is from my partner and his family! From Hugo's Mum I recieved some Beyonce - Heat. I absolutely love Beyonce and I absolutely love this perfume, to me it smells like Lush! So this is perfect! Hugo got me loads and I feel super spoiled! I recieved a Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Set. This is my absolutely favourite set from Soap and Glory, it smells so gorgeous, sugary and lime so a gorgeous mixture of both sweet and fresh. I absolutely love it! It comes with the Sugar Crush body wash, Sugar Crush body scrub (which is the scrub I am using at the moment and absolutely LOVING) and also the Sugar Crush body butter and a body puff. I can't wait to use the whole collection together! He also got me another huge Soap and Glory set which contains a big bottle of Clean on Me body wash, Scrub of Your Life, Hand Food, The Righteous Body Butter, Heel Genius and a body puff! I can't wait to use that either! I also got some makeup bits which I am absolutely chuffed with. I got the Best of Benefit set which is a set of all the best sellers from Benefit including Hoola Bronzer, Porefessional primer, Boing concealer in shade 1 and 2, They're Real mascara, Benetint lip and cheek tint, and also Highbeam highligher. It is an absolutely gorgeous set and the mini sized products will really come in handy when I'm on the go! He also got me a French Connection perfect eye set which contains loads of lovely eye makeup and tools such as eyelash curlers, an eyeshadow primer and a gorgeous mascara. And finally he got me some lovely little bits like a Bamboo hair brush from Babyliss, a retractable kabuki brush from Eco Tools, some gorgeous candles from Wax Lyrical and a big fluffy black snood!

I am so utterly greatful for all of my gifts this year and I couldn't ask for anything more - I feel super spoilt! I can't wait to read all of your posts if you're posting about what you got for Christmas!

Happy Holidays!!

October Favourites

I don't think I've ever done a favourites post before, but I've had so many awesome discoveries this month I think that I think it's very necessary!

Makeup

Lipstick

Photo from Makeup Alley

Last week a put up a post about my sisters wedding and how I did the bridesmaid's makeup. I used a lipstick called Asia as I found it to be the most flattering on a diverse range of skin tones. I have used this lipstick so many times since the wedding, I think it just looks really lovely and neutral, it has brilliant lasting power, the formulation is really creamy and lovely on the lips and also the packaging is quite smart too! Big thumbs up from me! You can buy Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia here.

Eye Liner
Photo from Maybelline

Maybelline's Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner has really stood out to me. I've never really been a big fan of eyeliner anyway, but I saw that Maybelline had a 3-for-2 offer on in Boots and I thought I'd pick one of these up to try out. Turns out, I actually love it! It comes with a tiny brush which is so nice to use and allows you to build  up the desired line thickness. The formula itself is super pigmented and creamy with great staying power. I wore it all day whilst out shopping and it didn't smudge or bleed at all. Really impressed! You can buy this product here.

Mascara

This is a rediscovery for me, I remember using it when I was a teenager at school and it was awesome back then! Again, this was on offer so I thought I'd pick it up for old times sake! I love the tiny little brush on it as I sometimes find huge fluffy mascara brushes quite hard and messy to work with, however this one gets right into the corners of my eye and is also perfect for putting on my bottom lashes! I got this in Blackish Brown because all of my other mascaras are black and I thought it would be nice to have a softer colour, although it does look pretty dark to me! You can but this here

Random

Music

I've not really had any new discoveries in terms of music this month, but I have been listening to a lot of RnB and club sort of songs! If this is your thing then I'd recommend having a listen to:
  • Gyptian - Hold Yuh
  • Iggy Azalea - Work
  • Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty
  • Sage the Gemini - Gas Pedal
Food

e.l.f cosmetics.. 50% off!

Just thought I'd let you guys know (if you didn't already) that e.l.f cosmetics is currently 50% off everything on orders over £20! So basically, spend £20 and get it for £10! Awesome bargain, and a great surprise considering I was ordering from there anyway. Keep your eyes pealed for some reviews coming up :)

You can buy e.l.f cosmetics here.
Enter the code '5020000' at the checkout to apply, although bare in mind it doesn't include delivery cost.

Enjoy!
